Dawn J. Post is an attorney based in New York City. She is an expert in children’s rights, advocacy and litigation and seeks to elevate youth voices and experiences. She promotes cultural competence to address the underlying issues of poverty and social exclusion based on race and socio-economic status in the legal and foster care systems in the United States. She has addressed issues related to broken adoptions, adoption subsidy misuse, and lack of post-adoption sibling visitation. She is in the process of opening a nonprofit law firm, Themis Youth Law & Advocacy, to fight for abandoned and discarded youth, engaging in legal services and advocacy to address broken adoptions, sibling visitation, and institutional child abuse and neglect in residential facilities for youth nationally and abroad.
