What It Costs

Honest Prices, Off the Same List Everyone Gets

We price by what it is and how long it is — not by the steel. A Damascus blade costs the same as any other blade its size.

Ceramic is the one that costs more — it takes a diamond wheel, and most shops won't touch it. A block price moves with what kind of knives, how many, and how long they are.

Bring it on the mower or off it — either way works. Every blade that leaves here is balanced.

  • Bunk chain, 8 ft$100
  • Custom-built chainsaw chainAsk us

Priced by bar length. Anything over 36 inches is a six-foot bunk chain. While it's here we clean up the bar and check the drive links — a burned drive link will ruin both the chain and the bar.

Mild steel, stainless, aluminum, heavy wall — we sharpen the blades that cut all of it. If you don't see your tool on this list, that usually means it's a job we quote by the piece, not that we won't do it.

Rush Need it same day, or inside 24 hours? A flat $10 — on the whole order, not per piece. Need it same day, or inside 24 hours? There's one flat rush charge on the whole order, not per piece. Ask us what it is.
Turnaround Usually about a week out — that's our normal lead time. Same-day when we can; plenty of knife jobs are done in half an hour. Something hard, give us a couple of weeks and we'll figure it out.
Paying On bigger jobs — a couple, two, three hundred dollars — we take 50% down. We may take a deposit on bigger jobs; ask at the counter. Commercial accounts run net 30. Walk-ins settle up at pickup.

There are a handful of things we don't take — ice skates and ice augers among them; we don't have the equipment for those. If you're not sure about yours, call and ask.

The Backbone of the Shop

Saw Blades, Carbide & Commercial Accounts

“Saw blades. Saw blades by far. The backbone of my company.”

Circular blades, industrial metal-cutting blades, bandsaw, bunk chain — sharpened on machinery built for it, by people who have been doing it for fifty years.

A customer came in with a run of heavy-duty beveled blades — four, five hundred dollars apiece, the kind that live inside a machine. They said, “can you sharpen these? We can't find anybody to sharpen them.”

We told them to give us a couple of weeks to work out how we'd do it. “And we sharpened them.” They picked up the whole batch, brought in more, and then started bringing us other things nobody else could sharpen either.

Blades Sharpened

Circular saw blades — priced by tooth count up to 16 inches, by diameter and thickness above that. Heavy-duty and industrial metal-cutting blades for mild steel, stainless, aluminum and heavy wall. Bandsaw and bunk chain too.

Carbide Tips Replaced

Chipped or missing teeth get new carbide — wood, metal-cutting, or nail-cutting tips, priced by how many the blade needs. Blanks and inserts on request. Tip replacement is in addition to sharpening.

Blades Sold, Not Just Serviced

We stock blades in a range of tooth counts and sell them off the shelf, Freud among them. Higher-end Tenryu and Forrest on request. We build custom chainsaw chain here too.

Pickup, Delivery & Net 30

Commercial pickup and delivery twice a week. Most accounts run net 30 — thirty days to pay, nobody making a counter trip, no invoice surprises.

We Ship Blades Nationwide

You don't have to be in Colorado to use this shop. Blades come to us from across the country — Denver, Pennsylvania, Wyoming — get sharpened, and go straight back out. Box them up and give us a call.

“Whether it's somebody's kitchen knife that isn't working right — that when they try and cut a tomato it gushes the tomato versus goes cleanly through — or the pallet company cutting 700,000 linear square feet a month of wood. It's all the same in my world.”

Three of us in the shop: Paul, his oldest son, and a friend of thirty-six years — a veteran — who has worked beside him longer than most businesses stay open.

It's been passed along from owner to owner, from father to son, since the mid-60s.

Around the Neighborhood

Block Party — Saturday, September 12

We shut the lot down for the afternoon and the neighborhood turned out — kids, neighbors, and plenty of folks we normally only see across the counter. Thanks to everyone who came by.

We the People

This is an American shop — pride in the work, and a handshake that still means something. Fifty years of neighbors trusting neighbors, one edge at a time.
